We, Dark Reader Ltd, Suite 746 Unit 3A, 34-35 Hatton Garden, London, EC1N 8DX, United Kingdom, provide the browser extension Dark Reader. Dark Reader is accessibility software that automatically changes the colors of visited websites to reduce eyestrain.
By using Dark Reader, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
General
Dark Reader is provided "as is" without any warranty of any kind, either expressed or implied. You use Dark Reader at your own risk.
Dark Reader works by modifying web page's cascading style sheets (CSS), colors, fonts, HTML attributes. It performs web requests to CSS files and images defined in style sheets in order to analyze them.
While we do our best to support various web technologies used by website authors, these techniques can cause side effects, ranging from disappearing images and text to breaking certain features or even blocking access to specific websites. In no event shall we be liable for any claims, damages, or other liabilities, whether in an action of contract, tort, or otherwise, arising from, out of, or in connection with Dark Reader or its use.
These Terms of Use shall be governed by and interpreted according to the laws of England and Wales. All disputes arising under the Terms of Use (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English and Welsh courts.
You should only install Dark Reader through the links provided on our website to the Chrome Web Store, Microsoft Edge Add-ons, Firefox Browser Add-ons, or Apple App Store.
You are not allowed to distribute, modify, adapt or reverse-engineer the software. We have published some parts of Dark Reader's source code under the MIT license. You may use it at your own risk, provided you comply with the terms of the MIT license and do not use our trademarks.
Dark Reader is intended to work with the latest versions of Google Chrome (Windows, macOS, Linux), Microsoft Edge (Windows, macOS, Linux, Android) and Mozilla Firefox (Windows, macOS, Linux, Android). Special terms apply to Dark Reader for Safari.
Dark Reader for Safari
Dark Reader for Safari is a special version of Dark Reader designed to work with Apple Safari browser (macOS, iOS, iPadOS). Dark Reader for Safari is distributed through the Apple App Store under Apple's Standard EULA. To access the application, a payment through Apple's App Store must be made in advance. Payments and refunds for Dark Reader for Safari are handled by Apple. You are not allowed to redistribute, change, adapt or reverse-engineer the software.
Dark Reader User Fee
You can install and use Dark Reader for Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Mozilla Firefox without making a payment in advance. However, you should understand the significant amount of work our team puts into development. We strongly advise you to make a payment immediately or after some time of using the extension.
This payment does not grant access to Dark Reader for Safari. You can request a refund of the User Fee within 14 days of making a payment, provided you have not breached these Terms of Use.
Dark Reader Corporate Subscription
Your organization can install and use Dark Reader for Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Mozilla Firefox without making a payment in advance. However, you should understand the significant amount of work our team puts into development. We strongly advise your organization to subscribe to yearly per-user payments immediately or after some time of using the extension.
This payment does not grant access to Dark Reader for Safari. Your organization can request a refund of the Corporate Subscription within 14 days of making a payment, provided it has not breached these Terms of Use. Your organization may also request to cancel future payments.
Dark Reader Plus
Dark Reader Plus provides access to a special user interface and additional features for a single user. It is currently available in Dark Reader for Microsoft Edge (Android, with early access on Windows, macOS, and Linux). After completing the payment, you will receive a code with activation instructions. You are not allowed to share this code or use a code obtained from unauthorized sources. By making a purchase you receive a non-exclusive right to use the additional features. You are not allowed to redistribute, change, adapt or reverse-engineer the software.
This payment does not grant access to Dark Reader for Safari. You can request a refund of the Dark Reader Plus payment within 14 days, provided you have not breached these Terms of Use. Upon receiving the refund, you must deactivate the code immediately. If you share the Dark Reader Plus code without our authorization, it will be deactivated, your access to Dark Reader Plus may be restricted, and you will not receive a refund.
Privacy
Dark Reader extension does not collect any personal data or browsing history. Your payment information is handled by PayPal, Stripe, or another payment provider. We may use your email to send activation codes and instructions or contact you regarding your payment. See our Privacy Policy for more information.
Technical Support
We strive to provide email support. However, due to the large number of users, we do not guarantee a response. We prioritize responding to bug reports that include clear steps to reproduce a problem, issues with popular websites and emails regarding payments made. We may not respond to rude or insulting emails. We do not guarantee that any reported problem will be resolved.
Changes and Termination
We may terminate or suspend your right to use Dark Reader if you breach the Terms of Use, harass our team members or users, leave fake reviews, or if your use of Dark Reader violates any applicable law.
We reserve the right to make changes or modifications to these Terms of Use. If you would like to be notified of changes to these Terms of Use, please send us an email with the subject line "Subscribe to Terms of Use Changes". You can find the latest version of the Terms of Use on our website.
